The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) offers incentives for electric and natural gas efficiency improvements made on farms and by farm producers. This includes, but is not limited to: orchards, dairies, greenhouses, vegetable growers, vineyards, grain dryers, and poultry/egg operations. The program is only available to customers that pay the System Benefits Charge (SBC) on their natural gas or electricity bills. It will only support improvements related to farm operations; energy efficiency measures in on-farm residences are not eligible for incentives.

The Multifamily Performance Program (MPP), the marquee program in NYSERDA’s Multifamily Energy Performance Portfolio, is available for multifamily buildings with five or more units and four or more floors. Both market-rate and affordable-rent buildings are eligible. These small business customers may schedule a free energy assessment and then receive a 70% discount on the installed cost of recommended lighting measures. Eligible lighting measures include the retrofitting of fluorescent fixtures, replacement of upgrades from incandescent bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs, and the replacement changing of illuminated exit signs with light emitting diode (LED) signs.
