Efficiency Smart®provides energy efficiencyservices topublic power communities that subscribe to its services. Efficiency Smart assists residential, commercial, and industrial customers of these participating municipal electric systems to reduce their energy consumption and save money through improved energy efficiency.
AEP Ohio offers commercial customers incentives to upgrade equipment in eligible facilities to more energy efficient models. The program is open to all non-residential customers of AEP Ohio. Incentives are offered on a prescriptive and custom basis. Eligible prescriptive equipment includes heat pumps, air conditioners, exhaust equipment, energy management systems, occupancy sensors, chillers, variable speed drives, motors, refrigeration equipment, food service equipment, window film and agricultural equipment.

AEP Ohio offers incentives to commercial customers who are building a new facility or are performing a major renovation. Incentives are provided for upgrading lighting, lighting controls, HVAC measures, commercial cooking equipment, variable frequency drives and custom measures among others. All equipment must meet program specifications for efficiency and installation.
Ohio subsidiaries of FirstEnergy (Ohio Edison, The Illuminating Company, Toledo Edison) offer rebates for the installation of certain energy efficiency improvements for commercial customers. These programs were created in response to Ohio Senate Bill 221, and funded by all non-residential customers of First Energy.
Dayton Power and Light’s (DP&L) non-residential electricity customers are eligible for energy efficient technology rebates. Rebates are available for energy efficiency measures added to an existing system when a customer retires usable electric-powered equipment and replaces it with a more efficient model.
AEP Ohio offers commercial customers incentives to upgrade inefficient equipment in their facilities.* The program is open to all non-residential customers of AEP Ohio. Interested customers must apply for pre-approval before purchasing any equipment or carrying out the project to reserve funds.
AEP Ohio offers incentives for commercial customers who have implemented energy efficiency upgrades as if the customer commits the energy efficiency savings and/or peak demand reductions to AEP Ohio (subject to Public Utilities Commission of Ohio approval). The program is open non-residential customers of AEP Ohio that use more than 700,000 kWh per year or who are part of a national account that involve multiple facilities in one or more states
Duke Energy’s Smart $aver Incentive program offers rebates to non-residential customers to install energy efficient equipment in commercial/industrial facilities. All Duke Energy Ohio nonresidential electric customers are eligible, except those that have elected to opt out of the Energy Efficiency Rider.
