For existing and new commercial construction, Pedernales Electric Cooperative provides incentives for kW saved through efficient lighting. Rebates vary based upon whether construction is new or retrofit. Projects which indicate a 20 kW reduction or more will be eligible for incentives.
The Austin Energy Multi-Family Program provides cash incentives to owners, developers, and property managers of apartments and other multi-family properties for making energy efficiency improvements. Rebates are available for qualified A/C systems, heat pumps, window treatments, insulation, ductwork, and lighting equipment. A free walk-through energy survey is required before a rebate application will be accepted.
CoServ Electric Cooperative provides rebates for commercial and industrial customers who upgrade to high efficiency lighting for the workplace. A rebate of $0.30/watt saved is available on custom lighting upgrades and a rebate of $1.50 – $2.25/bulb is available for upgrading T8 Fluorescent bulbs. A variety of lighting fixtures are eligible for custom rebates. Contact CoServ to inquire about eligible technologies and fixtures.
Within the GreenSense program, Denton Municipal Electric’s Standard Offer Program provides rebates to large commercial and industrial customers for lighting retrofits, HVAC upgrades and motor replacements. Customers must submit a proposal and application with estimated project cost, estimated demand savings, and method of the deman savings calculation.
TXU offers a variety of rebates to business customers who sign up for or renew a 12 month contract with TXU. Rebates are available for HVAC equipment, lighting, programmable thermostats, vending equipment, tankless water heaters, roofing improvements, compressed air, VFD’s, chillers and rooftop HVAC units.
Xcel Energy Large Commercial and Industrial Standard Offer Program (SOP) pays incentives to businesses for retrofit and new construction projects that save energy in peak summer demand periods and are located within Xcel’s service territory. Payments to Project Sponsors will be based solely on kW and kWh savings.
Austin Energy offers incentives for the construction and major renovation of commercial buildings within its service territory. The program rewards customers by using a tiered payment format, which provides incentives to customers for using efficient measures and techniques throughout the entire construction process.
CPS Energy, San Antonio’s municipal electric utility, offers energy efficiency rebates for commercial electric customers. Rebates are available for several defined energy efficiency improvements, but may also be available for customized measures that reduce electricity demand.
El Paso Electric (EPE) offers several incentive programs targeting small business owners as well as larger commercial and industrial EPE customers. The Large Commercial Solutions Program is designed to help businesses address rising energy costs through the installation of energy efficiency improvements.
The no-cost Commercial Solutions Program is designed to help businesses, cities and counties address rising energy costs through energy efficiency improvements. The program offers objective, third-party consulting on energy usage and efficiency. This support helps customers identify cost-effective projects, properly evaluate vendor proposals, and leverage the resulting energy savings and cash incentives to finance additional improvements.
El Paso Electric offers a targeted incentive program for public institutions, local governments and higher education. The SCORE Program is designed to help municipalities, counties, public schools, private schools and higher education facilities identify energy efficiency opportunities in existing and newly planned facilities, and to provide financial incentives to help implement identified projects. The program is funded by El Paso Electric Company and is being offered at no cost to participants.
CenterPoint Energy’s Commercial & Industrial Standard Offer Program pays incentives to service providers who install energy efficiency measures in commercial or industrial facilities that are located within its service territories.
Garland Power and Light (GP&L) offers the incentives to its residential, small commercial and commercial customers to increase the energy efficiency of homes and facilities. Rebates for installing central air conditioning or heat pumps in already existing homes and businesses is available to residential and small commercial customers.
Oncor provides incentives to service providers who install approved energy efficiency measures in commercial, industrial, and government sites. Service providers can include energy service companies (ESCOs), energy consultants, contractors, individual customers, and retail electric providers.
Entergy offers the SCORE®, CitySmart® and Commercial Solutions Programs to help customers address energy costs through energy efficiency. The programs provide complimentary tools, services and incentives to participating customers who complete projects resulting in peak electricity demand savings. Common new construction and retrofit projects include the installation of efficient lighting technologies, ENERGY STAR® qualified roofing material, high efficiency motors and high efficiency air conditioning equipment.
Texas-New Mexico Power’s Commercial Solutions Program provides incentives for the retrofit installation of a wide range of measures that reduce customer energy costs, reduce peak demand, and/or save energy in non-residential facilities. Incentives are paid to energy efficiency service providers on the basis of standardized savings (formulas for measures in representative building types) or on the basis of measured savings.
Austin Energy offers a special incentive for its small-to-midsize and not-for-profit business customers to increase the energy efficiency of facilities through the Small Business Rebate Program. Through this program, qualified customers can receive a 30% bonus on all the rebates offered through Austin Energy’s standard Commercial Rebate Program. Rebates are available for qualified HVAC equipment, ceiling/roof insulation and cool roofing, chillers, custom technologies, energy recovery ventilators, lighting equipment, motors, variable frequency drives and window treatments.

The CitySmart Program is designed to help participants identify energy efficiency opportunities in existing and newly planned city facilities. Monetary incentives are also available to help implement the projects. The program is being offered at no cost to participants.
The Residential and Hard-to-Reach Standard Offer Programs provide incentives to “Project Sponsors” to install energy efficiency measures in Xcel’s service area. Residential customers should contact a participating sponsor (awarded at the first of each calendar year) through the web site provided.
CenterPoint Energy’s (CNP) Residential and Small Commercial Standard Offer Program (SOP) provides incentives to encourage contractors to install energy efficiency measures in homes and small businesses in CNP’s designated service area.

AEP Texas is pleased to offer the SCORE, CitySmart, Commercial Solutions, CoolSaver and Open Market Transformation Programs. Each program is designed to help customers address energy costs through energy efficiency.
The SCORE Program is a market transformation program offered to K-12 school districts and higher education customers in the CenterPoint Energy, Inc. electric distribution service territory. The program helps administrators and facility supervisors operate their buildings more efficiently by understanding the technical and financial benefits of investing in energy efficiency. The program is of no cost to participants and provides a framework for implementing a wide range of efficiency measures.
Oncor’s Government Facilities Program (GFP) was created to help city and county governments reduce energy use and expenditures through energy efficiency upgrade projects. The Government Facilities Program was developed to provide viable energy efficiency and demand reduction solutions for city and county owned and operated facilities. As part of the Government Facilities Program, participating cities and counties will identify opportunities within their areas and develop an energy master plan so that they can take the best approach toward reducing energy costs.
